HEADLINE VERDICT

A compact M car with serious pace, real adjustability and an old-school streak.

Reviewers consistently praise the six-cylinder engine, rear-drive balance and the choice of manual or automatic. It is heavy for its size, but its depth of performance and everyday usability remain difficult to match.
